There are different ways on how one can learn the language. There are individuals who would rather learn on their own—through practice and experience. There are those who would enroll themselves in actual classes or those who would buy instructional material they can use at home.
The truth is, most instructional methods, in class or otherwise, have the same simple Spanish lessons being employed. For instance, the beginning of any instructional material would involve a few Spanish words. Easy to understand, useful and with little difficulty in pronunciation—these three can be observed among the words that are chosen for simple Spanish lessons.
‘Buenos dias’ is a phrase that translates to ‘good morning’ or ‘good day.’ ‘Buenas tardes’ is for ‘good evening’ but can only be used for early evening because a more appropriate phrase ‘buenas noches’ is used for ‘good night.’ ‘¿Cómo estás?’ is for ‘how are you?’ As one can see, these phrases are used for greeting. They are not very difficult to say or remember.
Simple Spanish lessons would also involve learning counting numbers. This would not only serve as an addition to their Spanish vocabulary but also help them be more familiar with the proper accent or enunciations.
More conversational phrases that are included in simple Spanish lessons are usually ‘¿Cómo te llamas?’ for ‘what is your name,’ ‘me llamo (nombre), for ‘what is your (name)’ and ‘encantado de conocerle?’ for ‘how do you do?’
As the lessons progress, one would notice that sentences become longer and more complex. This is not a reason to feel disheartened or discouraged. One would not advance to longer sentences without knowledge of the simpler ones. This is the purpose of simple spanish lessons—to prepare you for Spanish sentences that you can actually use in conversations.
